Alright this seems to be an issue then with the non-free version of the nvidia driver. Unfortunately when it comes to that package there isn't much we can do in terms of troubleshooting after we determine it is that driver. Is there something the the non-free driver doesn't do for you when it says unknown? Or is this a report just to say it isn't detecting the monitor?
