Would it be accurate to suggest that kcm_knetworkconfmodule is due to be dropped, as networkmanager 0.7 now seems able to do much of the configuration that knetworkconfmodule once did? Its interface in Kubuntu intrepid is rather poor, but I seem to remember seeing that someone's making a nice plasma frontend for it, which should improve matters.
