Hi guys, I run an up-to-date Ubuntu 8.10. I'm having trouble with an external USB DVD burner. It used to work just fine before with Sabayon and WinXP.
Now with the latest Ubuntu it's very hectic. Sometimes it burns the disk correctly, but mostly the process stops after a few MB is burnt and it hangs - whatever software I use. I get this in /var/log/messages: Jan 28 23:37:06 oslo kernel: [258468.744247] usb 7-1.6: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 12 Reading this log "Hated On Mostly" suggests to roll back to the original kernel, that should work fine. I did, but unfortunately it did not solve the problem. I still get this USB reset error. Checked the kernel version, just to be sure: uname -r 2.6.27-7-generic -- ehci_hcd module causes I/O errors in USB 2.0 devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
