Perhaps I was not clear enough - well reading it now, it's obvious I was not very clear at all.
I have UBU Version 8.04. It came with Open Office V 1.2.3 While I have done some updates and additions, the opportunity to update OO (nor Ubuntu) via the Symantic Package manager has not been presented. And I am thinking... this is not good - OO is up to version 3+ and I am stuck with the very old version with less useful features. Then I read your reply and thought about what you had said and figured that I had written up the issue all wrong. I have found and issue that may solve it. I have found though some alterations to "System, Administration, Software Sources" - I am not sure if these are connected, but I have just found a package in the Synaptic Package Manager called "Ubuntu Desktop" that apparently has a lot to do with all the upgrades. I will give this a try and then see how it goes. -- The Synaptic Package Manager only shows Open Office V 1.2 - Open Office is now up to version 3.1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
