Youtube works for me, and f8,f10,f11 do work too. They worked by default (right after ubuntu was installed). In the keyboard shortcuts window, it says XF86AudioMute, XF86AudioLowerVolume, XF86AudioRaiseVolume, respectively. I have the HP Mini 1120NR.
