Bigbrovar, I have similar problems. However, I believe the problem occurs when trying to play two different sound sources at once. For instance, open RhythmBox and play an mp3. Sound will work fine. Keep that playing and then open a browser and watch a video or any other sound producing content. Audio stops entirely for me. This happened after using the update mentioned above to fix my sound.
