Tracker stores its files in your home folder according to the freedesktop.org spec. They're not just scattered around several directories randomly for no good reason.
These tracker-extract crashes are rarely tracker problems but crashes caused by the libraries that tracker is using to extract the metadata from your files (there was a common ffmpeg bug causing lots of tracker- extract crashes a while ago, but that was fixed recently). And tracker already provides a way to clear all it's data. Just run "tracker-processes -r" Most of the current issues with tracker are related to QDBM, which has been removed in 0.7.x. Some of your comments are very unfair and completely unnecessary.
