We may have found one potential trigger for this behaviour in testing. We have seen some correlation between hibernate and CPU overheating. Therefore could those of you definatly suffering this issue, ie. those who have had thermal shutdowns, please compare the behaviour of the machine following a clean reboot, and then after a hibernate. As before could you record the temperature reported under sensors when running the stress applications as detailed above. It might also be instructive to try the same after just a suspend.
