When testing this on a new installation or an updated one, I am able to reproduce this once in a while. I can't put my finger on what triggers it. I'm using nautilus-share 0.7.2-4ubuntu1 on ubuntu jaunty.
The exact error is: 'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot share path /path/to/share as we are restricted to only sharing directories we own. Ask the administrator to add the line "usershare owner only = False" to the [global] section of the smb.conf to allow this.
