Hello, I have an Acer Aspire One and get kernel panics using the default ath5k. I'm currently using an Atheros AR242x Wireless Adapter.
I can connect without problem to the wireless router. However, any 100mb downloads or Bittorrent use would either cause a cease in network activity or a kernel panic. I have tried using the latest madwifi drivers, the linux backport modules, and ndiswrapper. All of them cause network activity to cease from prolong use or a kernel panic. I am currently using an archived ath5k module, specifically dated 2009-07-31. I still lose network activity or even get a few disconnects when downloading >100mb or using Bittorrent. On the other hand, with this module, I don't get any kernel panics as of now. By using the archived module, I don't have to be wary of getting a kernel panic, which is a serious problem. I just think it would help as a very loose remedy currently until its fixed. -- ath5k locks up system in jaunty - "ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
