New info: the problem is with compositing, making kwin a possible culprit. When compositing is turned off, suspend works normally. When it is on, all components with any transparency at all become 100% transparent. They are still active and can be "found" using the cursor, they're just invisible. If you then turn the compositing off, then on, everything returns to normal. Also, kwin --replace mostly works with some curious artifacts in the panel.
As a side note, when xcompmgr is on in xubuntu, this problem does not arise. Suspend works perfectly normally. Unfortunately, kwin _and_ xserver-xorg-video-intel _and_ acpi-support were all upgraded on the day in question, so it could be any combination of the three. However, suspend works fine everywhere else, so it's perhaps less likely. Since the only two people seeing this problem right now are using intel x4500 graphics, that points the finger a bit. -- suspend resume fails in kubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420924 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
