Repetitive problem since Ubuntu 8.10, using Laptop HP Pavilion dv2872la, using wireless card Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61).
Everytime you try to shutdown or restart the laptop, after the closing ubuntu splash, the screen gets black with several blinking cursors, sometimes the laptop turns off by itself, other times one has to push the power down button as to power it off. I have started the kernel without the option QUIET SPLASH, and in the shutdown process I receive the following error message: [261.458176] iwlagn 0000:07:00.0: Error: Response NULL in 'REPLY_ADD_STA' As the driver for the aforementioned wireless card is integrated in the kernel, I am posting this bug referred to this package. I also attach the result of lspci command in my laptop. I hope this info can help, if you need something else, let me know. I have also installed linux-backports-modules and linux-restricted- modules without any change. I have also noticed this behaviour with the Alpha 4 of Karmic Koala. I haven't been able to fix the problem with the possible solutions mentioned in the comments of this page. I filed a bug report in Bugzilla Intellinuxwireless (http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2081), but they said it was not a problem of the driver. ** Bug watch added: bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/ #2081 http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2081 ** Attachment added: "lspci crash iwlagn" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31416091/lspci%20crash%20iwlagn -- Jaunty & Interpid: won't power off on shutdown or reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
