After today's upgrades dbus seems to start again. A glimpse into
dpkg.log shows me
2009-09-17 09:52:24 status installed mountall 0.1.6
2009-09-17 09:52:48 status installed initramfs-tools 0.92bubuntu46
as the primary suspects to have solved the case, where I favor the former,
which has in its changelog:
* Only include FHS filesystems in the {virtual,local,remote}-filesystems
events. This prevents an unmountable entry in fstab blocking things like
starting D-Bus or the Network which are required to mount that filesystem.
LP: #430880.
I do have an fstab entry which didn't mount (for whatever, since a "mount"
after booting gives no errors). So this might be related.
I think now I can agree to close this dbus bug, too. ;-)
