Information you asked for. Hope this helps. Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up? This is a suspend/hibernate failure. ---- the machine goes to sleep by closing the lid or after time set in the system. While I open the lid or press any key to resume from time suspend the laptop powers on for a 1 second and shuts off. Is it reproducible? Because this is a test version of Karmic Ubuntu the kernel has been different but on the latest version as of today 10/11/09 on the last 10 test (lid close & time suspend) it has happened on every occurance. Did it work before? It has worked on Windows 7 last install on this laptop and has worked on 8.04 version of the system. Don’t have the logs but I know I had no issues. Do you end up with flashing caps-lock or similar? No flashing caps-lock or anything. They flash once when I press the button to resume but powers off and nothing flashing. Hibernate specific information For resume from Hibernate failures, please include the output from the following commands from the boot following the hibernate, this includes information on the search for the resume device etc: 1.dmesg 2.cat /proc/cmdline 3.cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
its not from Hibernate but let me know if you still need this.
