Given that it's an atheros card, linux support would normally be done via the madwifi driver. However, it seems that the chipset in your card is atheros AR5008 (AR5416) which is not yet supported by madwifi. See http://madwifi.org/ticket/1001 for details [and developers getting buried under a mountain of user requests for adding driver support].
As an alternative, there are various reports of this card working via ndiswrapper though: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/List (search for "5416") http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=348918 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=307258 Rejecting the bug report since this card not working out of the box is, unfortunately, not a bug in ubuntu. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected -- D-Link DWA-547 wireless card doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/85455 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
