To clarify my last point, you're right that this is not a bug in
bcm43xx-fwcutter.  The 'bug' is in the kernel itself which contains
support only for v4 firmware, thus dropping support for the many people
who have older broadcom cards.

If you want to reclassify this bug to the kernel, that's fine.  I'm just
hoping it get fixed before release.  Otherwise I have to start
investigating if I can replace the wireless card in my laptop.  Yuck.
