None of the proposed fixes worked for me (e.g. post #65, or I didn't execute everything properly, but I think I did). However, this worked like a charm: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8361928&postcount=38 (replace /dev/sda1 with your appropriate partition..)
