This sucks so bad. I moved to arch on my main machine because of this bug. (it doesn't push the rubbish that is pulse on you like ubuntu does).
Arch without pulse + 5.1 works perfectly right out of the box. I didn't have to do a thing. No buzz, no stutter. Pulseaudio is stupid, just get rid of it already.
