Matt, can you tell me whether you needed a manufacturer-supplied driver to make your printer working under Karmic? Or did it work with Karmic out-of-the-box. If it worked with Karmic out-of-the-box, please attach the PPD file (from /etc/cups/ppd/) which was used for your printer. With this I can find out why it does not work under Lucid any more.
Matt, can you also connect your printer to the USB and run the following commands in a terminal window: sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp0 sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp1 and post the output here?
