I have now upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04, and the problem is almost exactly the same. I don't think it even gets to the splash screen at this point, just the notification of which partition is going to be loaded (not sure if that's before or after the splash).
2.6.31-14 remains the only kernel that works properly on my computer. I now expect that this will remain the case forever and ever and ever. Please believe me when I say I remain supremely grateful for all of the fantastic work that is done by the Linux and Ubuntu communities on behalf of everyone, including myself. However, I cannot believe what is happening here. This is the second thread on Launchpad regarding this issue, both together totaling probably thirty or forty posts, almost exclusively from myself giving updates. NOT ONE SINGLE SOLITARY PERSON CAN EVEN POST A SIMPLE NOTE OF SYMPATHY OR EMPATHY? I'm not even talking about asking me to check on this or that... What the hell is going on? Why can no one even point me to another forum with people who are willing to help? You... yes YOU reading this post right now. Post anything. Post an empty note in reply... Please, I'm begging you... anything at all. Jesus H.
