OK. I'll upgrade to Mac OS X snow leopard first. Perhaps this will upgrade CUPS to a version that sends the right thing.
If not, I'll do as you suggest. In the meanwhile, would there be a quick'n'dirty fix that maps one MIME type to the other on the Linux side?
