I am sorry to be so ignorant, but I do not know what network-manager is
or if I want network-manager to manage my networks. I just want the
network to come up when I boot :-)

In Gnome, I selected System -> Administration -> Networking and typed in
my root pw to an app identifying itself as "network-admin".

I then set up my wireless card exactly as I do in Edgy. network-admin
must have taken it upon itself to write the file
/etc/network/interfaces.

At no time was I asked to do anything with the Gnome keyring, of which I
am sorry to say I know nothing.

In Edgy, network-admin can produce a configuration that causes the
system to boot with the network enabled, so I don't think it is
unreasonable to want the same for Feisty.

Should I repost the bug with some other subsystem?

Thanks very much for looking at this and for your patience!

Cheers,

Cay
