Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdebi
I am running gdebi (from the command-line) with the following locale LANG=fr_FR.utf8 (which is French from France). And when it asks the question about if I want to install the package or not, I answer "o" (for "oui", "yes") it just exits. The question is displayed like this: Voulez-vous installer le paquet logiciel ? [o/N] : I type "o" (or "O"), (I even tried "y" or "Y") and then it exits. I get no error. A workaround is to use: LANG=C sudo gdebi package.deb ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gdebi-core 0.6.3ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Oct 24 16:00:14 2010 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release Candidate amd64 (20101002) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LC_MONETARY=en_US.utf8 PATH=(custom, user) LANG=fr_FR.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gdebi ** Affects: gdebi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- cannot install a package with gdebi command-line when using French locale https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/666024 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
