Same here.  After update a few minutes ago I can no longer boot.
Western Digital sata disk.  jkuhnert, could you elaborate on how you got
back to a bootable state.  I'm forced to boot XP at the moment.
Downloading a live CD right now, hopefully that will help.

I see some ata errors similar to those above.
