Thanks for looking at this here is a better explanation. In options i have set delete on exit from wastebasket does not work. right click on waste basket gives error while expunging evolution trash. lf i try to delete a single file the curser goes to the next file. In the previous version on 10.4 the wastebasket sign was not active. In junk with the same option to delete, the files just go to wastebasket. Iindividually or select all and delete same result. In wastebasket ctrl e does not work not even an error meesage. I now have 1610 files in wastebasket is there a work around? . I also noticed in 10.4 to get the wastebasket to empty it would only execute if all messages in other folders were closed when using the auto option.
