Oliver: Hmm this bug starting to become unfocused. Generally speaking you need to reboot or manually unload the nvidia modules if you are trying to switch between versions - that's just the nature of the drivers (it is unwise to be switching kernel modules like that on the fly anyway - you never know what the state the hardware will be left in). The nvidia-glx-legacy drivers aren't the best fit for your card (but the issue you were seeing with them was Bug #63461 ) .
Finally, the nvidia-glx-legacy drivers are 71xx and the "regular" nvidia-glx drivers are 96xx. The 97xx drivers are nvidia-glx-new and aren't compatible with Geforce 4s. Does adding Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP" to the Screen section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf make any difference when you are using nvidia-glx? -- nvidia driver doesn't work with GF4 TI-4200 Go https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
