Thanks - that worked perfectly. Thanks for pointing out the PEBCAK. A note for anyone else trying this, the scanner will seem very slow - this is because it seems to default to scanning at the maximum resolution. Reducing the resolution to something sensible for everyday use speeds things up immensely.
