Hi everyone,

Could you try and see what the current support status for your monitor is by
using the latest version of the monitors database is ? You can get it from here.
git clone git://ddccontrol.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/ddccontrol/ddccontrol-db

It is going to be hard to investigate the problem without the monitor to
reproduce it locally. If you have any clue in which way the Samsung EDID
differs from correct EDID, please let us know. The first thing we need
it a dump of your EDID data. There is a utility in Ubuntu to dump it,
then parse it. One of them is called read-edid. Could you post the
output file here so that we can start investigating? Don't hesitate to
give us any extra piece of information that you could have.

As for support requests, there is really no way to make automatic. If we
have the monitor, we may be able to reverse engineer its capabilities in
roughly 2 days, and we have more that 100 requests. That is about 2
years worth of work on week-ends. And when we don't have the monitor, it
can go up to a week of back and forth testung between the owner and the
developers.

We could probably improve the process so that it doesn't require such a
large amount of work, but it is hard to find time when the developers
have a job and family, or school, and are sepearted by thousands of
kilometers.
