This whole mouse-polling thing might be onto something. I have a Phenom II X4, with an ATI Radeon HD 5870. Moving windows and icons was jerkier than Kathryn Hepburn on bad acid. My mouse is a Razer DeathAdder Respawn (the 3500 dpi version) which I normally have set to 900 dpi, and running a pollrate at 1000hz.
This mouse remembers the settings between boots, so I dualbooted into Windows, lowered the polling rate to the default 125hz and rebooted into Ubuntu. Lo and behold, dragging windows and icons was SUBSTANTIALLY smoother. Still not as smooth as before I upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04 but now it's actually tolerable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/764330 Title: Move window annoying slow with compiz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/764330/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
