Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait

Info: after applying the above update, the red circle (update-manager I
guess) lighted up on the upper right corner of the screen (left of the
date). I doubled click on it and it said that my system was not up-to-
date, and I could see many packages eligible to be updated (including
for exemple OpenOffice, xchat, cpio, uzip, etc ... but not
ubuntu-desktop). The mouse pointer remained always as a circle, and it
seems it was downloading something but I could not see what (no traffic
activity on the network monitor), so I aborted the window (clicked
"Cancel" I think, lower right button of the update-mmanager window).

3 - Installation of ubuntu-desktop (remember I told you it was already
installed - version is 0.80; but anyway, I choosed to (re?)install it as
you told me):
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances... Fait
ubuntu-desktop est déjà la plus récente version disponible.
0 mis à jour, 0 nouvellement installés, 0 à enlever et 157 non mis à
jour.

It says (3rd line) that "ubuntu-desktop is already the most recent
version available"

Now, if I set the mouse pointer over the update-manager icon (red
circle) on the upper right corner of the screen, the following label is
displayed
"155 mises à jour sont disponibles" (155 updates are available).

What should I do then?
