I can't see a reason why it should be different under metacity. What I'm very sure of is that you have not moved the mouse all the way over the bubble, thus the proximity-fade feature didn't turn down the opacity fully yet.
See the two screenshots I made while running metacity. Against bright and dark windows I can read what's behind the faded bubble very easily... when I have moved the mouse completely over the bubble. Marking it as invalid. ** Attachment added: "faded bubble under metacity against a dark window" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notify-osd/+bug/821719/+attachment/2267875/+files/how-opaque-is-it-1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821719 Title: Bubbles too opaque in Unity 2D To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notify-osd/+bug/821719/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
