The site is valid, but not for the things you want to do.

You've downloaded a daily live cd which is why "26-aug-2011 beta" is
wrong, because the beta isn't out yet.

In addition without the info from the pc that fails to boot we have
nothing but a possibly bad cd burn.

You can get some information from the actual kernel oops by doing something 
like this:

You could also wait for the beta to come out, which should be
Today/Tomorrow

And give that a try and see if that fixes the issue, as it may have just
been a bad daily cd, otherwise I'd like to see even a slight glimpse of
an error log to get any idea of what is happening other than 'doesn't
boot'.
