Public bug reported: I recently started using Ubuntu Dapper, and there's one single issue that made it hard to use: it's relatively hard to find information specific for the version I use.
There are now five Ubuntu versions (one current, one in development, two supported, one obsolete). On the internet, most articles are about "Ubuntu", not about "Dapper" or "Hoary". Also, the Ubuntu wiki pages very often don't specify what version they refer to. This led me to numerous dead-ends while searching (with Google) for all sorts of informations. (From "are there accelerated drivers for my graphic chipset?" (I have a laptop with an Intel i9xx chipset, and I _think_ it's accelerated.) to "how do I get application X?" or even "can I use application X?") I suggest at least investigating a way to clearly mark (and to ease finding) what version of Ubuntu each page of the wiki refers to. Perhaps increasing a bit the focus on each version's name (currently articles on the net are often "Review of the latest Ubuntu" or "How to use X with Ubuntu" instead of "Review of Ubuntu Dapper"). This would focus a bit Google searches. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- It's hard to find relevant Ubuntu documentation because of many versions https://launchpad.net/bugs/57116 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
