I've downloaded and installed a kernel from : http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/current/linux- image-3.1.0-997-generic_3.1.0-997.201108301803_i386.deb Unfortunately, it doesn't fix my problem.
I wonder if I got the kernel you wanted me to try? The links I tried to follow on the page you got me to mostly don't work, so I went to the archive. If I got the wrong kernel, maybe you could point me to the right one please.
