After you test the latest upstream kernel, I'd also appreciate it if you
could download the package from the following link:

  http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/psmouse-elantech-debug/v0.1
/psmouse-elantech-debug-dkms_0.1_all.deb

After downloading, you can install it either by double-clicking on the
downloaded file or else by opening a terminal and running 'sudo dpkg -i
psmouse-elantech-debug-dkms_0.1_all.deb' from the directory where you
downloaded the file. This will install a new version of the mouse driver
with extra debug information enabled. To begin using the new driver you
need to run 'sudo modprobe -r psmouse; sudo modprobe psmouse' in a
terminal. It will also be used when you reboot the computer.

I want you to capture two traces when using the new driver, one when it
is working properly and one when it isn't. When it is working run 'dmesg
> dmesg-working.txt' in a terminal, and when it isn't run 'dmesg >
dmesg-nonworking.txt'. Then please attach dmesg-working.txt and dmesg-
nonworking.txt to this bug.

One thing to note -- if you have this package installed when testing the
upstream kernel it will probably use the debug driver in preference to
the one included in the upstream kernel package. This is not useful, so
please test the upstream kernel before installing the debug driver
package.

Thanks!
