UPDATE 2-Bad news: The bug returned after upgrading to Precise (64 bit) and
using an encrypted wifi hotspot that has always been a little buggy itself.
Only thing is, fetching and installing linux-image 2-6-38-8-generic, as usual,
fixes the problem. Therefore something in all the 3.0 and later kernels is
reacting poorly with the rest of the network software or else working poorly
itself.
