"I don't know about you boys and gals, but I removed the nvidia-current package and it fell back to using the nouveau driver. This means I am now on Unity 3D and it works for me just fine."
Tried that, and my machine fell back to VESA, meaning 2D Unity only, as ugly as Unity was when it first appeared. Re-activated the nVidia driver, and de-activated it again, and on the next boot, behold Nouveau. And I notice my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file has disappeared. I'm not going to bother any longer with the nVidia drivers, Nouveau works fine for my purposes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982485 Title: [regression] Nvidia 295.40: Unity 3D does not work at all with the new nvidia driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/982485/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
