Got it. It works, thanks! I'm wondering how this goes with normal users... I mean, the sputnik ppa says that for raring the ppa it is not required as the path is in merged to main. But this is not actually true as it is in raring-proposed (that is not enabled by default). So the problem is that it it doesn't flow into main, sooner or later the patch might also disappear from raring-proposed or from next Ubuntu 13.10.
Also Dell seems having a partnership with Canonical and is selling Ubuntu pre installed pc/laptops as well and without this patch, it makes the laptop unusable. So, IMHO, we should ask Canonical to get this path into main.
