@launchpadder, If you look at the links above http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy/linux-firmware I could find the mentioned formware on saucy, I could test it on raring (13.04.) Is it possible for you to do a clean install to the lastest ubuntu version and install the new kernel on it?
