Works for me.
I'm running Kubuntu 14.04 on Gigabyte U2442. Installing the 3.15.5 kernel from 
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ helped.
The touchpad is now identified as “ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad” in “xinput list”, 
and all the fancy featutes (including edge-scroll and two-finger scroll) work 
and can be configured from KDE system settings.
