My answer to Teo's question regarding upgrades: I have had no problem with updates of any of 10.04 packages. My history is that I did a fresh install of 9.04, ran into a problem which I could solve using grub-repair, then upgraded to 9.10 without any problem, and during upgrade to 10.04 ran into this bug, which I solved somehow.
