@blubberdiblub: The patch didn't work for me. It did, however, work with a little modification.
14.04.1 mdadm 1x RAID1 2 x physical drives user@RAID-Upgrade-Test:~$ sudo grub-probe --target=abstraction /boot/grub diskfilter mdraid1x The patch above wasn't catching cases of *$check_abstraction*, so I added that in. My patch is attached.
