Firewall Shield now displays OK on clicking its Launcher icon i.e. immediately asks for admin password & on being given it, it displays its normal window. Does Firewall Shield use Wine? If not, why is Wine starting up? I guess that my installation of pipelight (from its ppa) upset the Launcher mechanism for Firewall Shield. But why?
