yep! that's exaclty what it means. the freezes do happen without compositing
enabled (at least that's what the kcm and qdbus are telling me ).
today I noticed, that plasmashell freezes first, and kwin stays responsive for
some time longer (ie. alt+tab is working). though kwin still freezes completely
a bit later. (ie no alt+tab).

if the freeze DID happen, I can't bring up krunner with alt+f2. if
that's the case qdbus org.kde.krunner times out. but krunner is listed
as a running process.

also notic the following errors in the kwin output: (i forgot to report them)
QXcbConnection: XCB Error 3 (BadWindow);
QXcbConnection: XCB Error 9 (BadDrawable)
