(In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #62) > Stupid question, does this > imply the "freezes" also occur *without* any compositing? yep! that's exaclty what it means. the freezes do happen without compositing enabled (at least that's what the kcm and qdbus are telling me ). today I noticed, that plasmashell freezes first, and kwin stays responsive for some time longer (ie. alt+tab is working). though kwin still freezes completely a bit later. (ie no alt+tab).
