System update was the cause of this error. nvidia-331 is broken or not fully 
installed ord-Snoopy:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331
[sudo] password for lord: 
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: nvidia-331 is broken or not fully installed
lord@lord-Snoopy:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331-uvm
dpkg-query: package 'nvidia-331-uvm' is not installed and no information is 
available
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: nvidia-331-uvm is not installed
I then rn  sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-331 nvidia-331-uvm dkms was 
installed and here is the return process

/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/glamoregl.conf (glamor_conf) in auto mode
