Alexander: because VLC and Audacity both show the same issue as playback
on an Ubuntu phone, this is not an issue the phone but most likely an
issue with how it was encoded. Apple's MP3 decoder is probably the most
well tested and forgiving and may be hiding the encoding issues. I would
see if you can try re-encoding this track using different parameters
such as a higher bitrate or even using a variable bitrate. See if you
can come up with a combination that doesn't make it crack on the Ubuntu
phone or VLC. Another option would be to use a different encoder than
LAME.
