Ok, with thanks to lotuspsychje who did some testing it seems the issue is triggered with switching of the "show the menu for one window" setting in systemsettings->appearance -> theme behaviour.
switching it one time triggers "something" that makes the windowsbuttons go to the right side no matter what setting is used afterwards. on a clean install, it is all fine. then one time switching this setting makes them go to the right forever. even on ambiance theme. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545556 Title: ubuntu 16.04: window buttons of gedit are placed on the right side To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/1545556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
