Here is how I managed to solve this problem: sudo apt-get remove python-virtualenv python3-virtualenv virtualenv virtualenvwrapper python-chardet-whl python-html5lib-whl python-setuptools-whl sudo apt-get install python-pip virtualenvwrapper
