Availability:
- Currently in the Ubuntu Universe archive

Rationale:
- Use by the Braille embosser support which got recently added to cups-filters.
There it will be used alternatively to liblouis. In contrary to liblouis it
does not only translate the plain text content of the input files into Braille
but also format and layout information will be expressed in the Braille output.

Security:
- No known CVEs about this package; no SUID/GUID binaries, no binaries in
/usr/sbin/, no daemons or services. no ports opened at all, input and output
only via files and stdin/stdout. The executable file2brl is started as the "lp"
system user of CUPS, not by root.

Quality assurance:
- When the package is installed, the filters for the Braille embosser detect
the presence of file2brl automatically and use it then. - Manual conversion via
direct call of file2brl is also possible.
- Package installation does not ask debconf questions
- No recent bugs reported on this package
- Package is maintained in Debian and regularly updated there. Ubuntu
auto-syncs it.
- Package supports all Braille embossers, so it is a general accessibility
package and not a driver for some rare hardware models.
- Test suite is failing and overridden in debian/rules.
- debian/watch file is present.

UI
- Text mode/command line utility with man page, no GUI

Dependencies
- All build and runtime dependencies are already in Main

Standards compliance
- Claims Debian standards compliance 3.9.7 in debian/control
- Files in the binary packages follow FHS and Debian standards

Maintenance
- Package synced with Debian and regularly updated there. Ubuntu bug contatc is
currently the Ubuntu Printing Team, will probably get moved to accessibility
team.
