Public bug reported: == Reproduction steps ==
1. Install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, selecting a non-QWERTY system keyboard layout (e.g. Dvorak) during installation. 2. Install the ibus-rime package. 3. Activate the RIME input method. 4. Use the RIME input method to type characters. 5. Observe that RIME correctly respects the system keyboard layout. 6. Upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. 7. Activate the RIME input method. 8. Use the RIME input method to type characters. == Expected behaviour == RIME respects the system keyboard layout, and allows character input according to that layout. == Actual behaviour == RIME ignores the system keyboard layout, and appears to act as if the system keyboard layout is hard-wired to QWERTY. == Package Details == $ dpkg-query -s ibus-rime Package: ibus-rime Status: install ok installed Priority: extra Section: libs Installed-Size: 68 Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers <ubuntu-devel-disc...@lists.ubuntu.com> Architecture: amd64 Version: 1.2-1build1 Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.37.3), libibus-1.0-5 (>= 1.5.1), libnotify4 (>= 0.7.0), librime1, ibus, librime-data Description: Rime Input Method Engine for IBus $ apt-cache policy ibus-rime ibus-rime: Installed: 1.2-1build1 Candidate: 1.2-1build1 Version table: *** 1.2-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: ibus-rime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574440 Title: After upgrade to 16.04, ibus-rime doesn't respect the system keyboard layout.
